Mostly the ones who are going broke. Do you really want us to emulate

1. What's "public assistance" amount to in your neck of the woods

for a

single mom with three dependent kids?

2. No, not "mostly the ones who are going broke." Most modern

nations have mandated paid vacation periods for private and public

sector workers.

No one has done more since the 1980s to **** over this country than

I don't think anyone has a complaint about a single mom with three

dependent kids collecting assistance. However, there should be (if

there isn't already) a limit to how much assistance she receives based

on the number of kids she has. Hold the fathers responsible and

accountable.

As far as vacations ... the government has no place mandating vacations

in the private work sector. The USA is *not* Europe and to compare our

work culture to European countries isn't meaningful. Every company I

knew of during my working career included paid vacations for full time

employees, BTW.

There are many, many Europeans who have immigrated permanently to the

USA or are here on long term green cards pursuing a career in the

States. I know several and there's a reason they come here.

As I stated, American corporations rule and they are intent on pushing

workers back towards serfdom.

Yawn.

Well, sure, you're one of the 1% and a retiree.

My status, your status and/or anyone elses status is not the point or

the issue. I object to your continuous and broad brush portrait of

"Corporate America" as being the enemy of their employees in terms of

pay, benefits and well-being. There are plenty of examples of companies

who value their employees ... (after all, the company *is* the

employees), who encourage and make available opportunities for growth

and earning power for those inclined and modivated to succeed.

I've always noticed that those who complain the most about employers are

are usually those who perform their tasks to the basic minimum

requirements, simply putting in the hours and then bitching that they

aren't paid what they think they deserve. "I exist, therefore I am owed."

Sort of a union mentality.

Preach on!
