Hillary is about to take the podium and explain the email mess.
It will take a lot of will power, but I'll watch and listen to her.
Hillary says she set up her own server because it was more "convenient" than carrying two devices, one each for her government and personal emails accounts. So the U.S Secretary of State could find no person in the vast employ of the federal government that could set up a smart phone to connect to two different email accounts. Like I did in three minutes with my ****ty little $49 Tracfone piece of crap. No, it was far more convenient to buy a server, have it set up in her house, establish her own domain, and set up multiple email addresses for her to keep track of (on God knows how many devices). Set aside whether she did anything wrong, or is holding back from the government or the American people: of itself this response is laughable and insulting. Democrats should be screaming for better. Anyone who buys this will swallow anything that Hillary decides to dish out....which, of course, is what the Clintons are counting on.
Not to defend her but:
1. According to Hillary the home "server" was originally set up for
Bill Clinton, not for her. She just used it.
All that tells mew is Bill wanted absolute control over his data too.
I agree it is going to be more secure than using Google Mail, which is
pretty much like doing business on a public bulletin board.
The issue is when they decide to delete something it is lost and gone
forever.
There was some blonde GOP bimbo on CNN last night insisting they
wanted the hard drives,. How stupid is this woman? Do you still have
the same hardware you were running 5 years ago? What makes her think
these are even the same hard drives. The other side of this is any
decent "secure" server would be shredding that data, not just marking
the sectors available. It would overwrite any released sector with
hash data. Over time they will be overwritten anyway, particularly if
you run your drives on the "full" side.
2. At the time it was against federal regulations to have a government
email address on a mobile device that also had a different, personal
email address programmed in it. That regulation has since changed.
The point of that is they do not want personal and government data
intermingled so she loses on that one too.
The hard drive in the laptop I am using right now is almost 6 years old
and it has been used daily since May of 2009. I also have a couple of
external USB hard drives that I save anything important enough to keep.
It only they run is once in a great while when I transfer some files
to it and then shut it off. I figure it will last quite a while.
I'll bet that "bimbo" you saw was Brianna Keilar. I'll admit she's one
of the reasons I like watching CNN. Good looking chick, born in
Australia, graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she
received dual bachelor's degrees in Mass Communications and Psychology.
Not exactly a bimbo in my book.
