I watched a bit of the so-called "undercard." Bobby Jindal is an
ass.
.....
I'm watching "Iwo Jima: From Combat to Comrades"
Very fitting for today
We hung out by the pool, with the tunes. If there was anything
interesting, it will be all over the TV for a week.
You didn't miss much. Carson flip-flopped on increasing the minimum
wage. Bush woke up for a few minutes. Cruz said he had five federal
agencies he wanted to close but couldn't name them. Not sure what Paul
said, so it wasn't memorable. Rubio wants more military so we can
fight
more wars. Fiorina's mouth moved. Kasich tried too hard. Trump
wants to
round up 11 million "aliens" and bus them to Auschwitz. That's about
it.
Oh, they all had budget and deficit busting plans to lower taxes for
the
rich.
Trump again proved to be the "alpha" of the group. Bush tried to
interrupt him and Trump shut him down quickly. Trump also played
the role of debate moderator at times, telling the Fox moderators who
they should let talk. Got a kick out of that.
The Fox Business and WSJ moderators did a halfway decent job keeping
the discussions on topic. Kasich made an ass of himself ...
probably in
desperation.
It was worth searching for the channel and watching.
I was only able to watch a few minutes at a time because of channel
flipping to a cable movie I thought more interesting.
None of them impressed me, and it wasn't because we are diametrically
opposed on most, if not all, the issues. I cannot figure out why Carson
is so popular, because he really seems to know next to nothing about
most of the issues. I was hoping for more from Kasich.
I think Kasich knows his days are numbered and he made a last ditch
effort to score some poll points. Instead, he made an obnoxious ass of
himself.
Actually, Chris Cristie did a good job in the kiddy debate earlier.
Mike Barnicle commented on him this morning on "Morning Joe". He
listened to the kiddy debate on the radio while driving to NH and
compared it to the Nixon/Kennedy debates when those who listened on the
radio felt Nixon won whereas those who saw it televised felt Kennedy won.
I don't see how any of them can hold a candle to Hillary, Bernie, or
Martin, in terms of grasp of the issues, ability to explain their
positions, or understanding of how government works. Trump is just too
bombastic, Carson is sleepier than Bush, Cruz and Paul are nuts, I agree
with your comment about Kasich, Rubio is a neo-con war monger, and if
Fiorina is hoping for a VEEP nod, she's the longest of long shots.
Don't fall over but I actually like and respect Bernie. I think he's
the most honest of all who are seeking their respective nominations and
his passion for what he holds as beliefs is evident. Not sure I could
vote for him, but if I *had* to choose between him and Hillary, I'd
seriously consider it.
