One thing about Harry

I wasn't convinced that it would happen so I sent John the money I
"owed" him in advance. It will go to a great cause that might bring a
tear to Harry's eye. I'll leave it to John if he wants to fill in the
blanks.
You didn't 'owe' me anything. It was a gracious gift to go towards a gift I plan to give an old Army
veteran (a few years older than me, anyway). He served two tours in Vietnam, lost his job when his
company folded, and is now living with his son and getting only Social Security.
He loves shooting, especially my Kimber .45. We go at least every two weeks. He had left his guns,
including a Colt M1911, with a son in Washington whose house was broken into. The guns were stolen
along with all the other valuable stuff.
He needs a gun. I'd been looking at some .45's with him in mind and have settled on the Ruger
SR1911, which will run about $675.
When I mentioned this to Alex, he immediately offered to help buy the gift, using the proceeds from
his bet with Harry. Harry probably would have donated the money anyway...maybe...out of the goodness
of his heart.
Harry, thanks for coming through on your bet.
Alex, thank you too! I've not ordered the gun yet. Waiting to see if the Trump election will cause
prices to drop a bit. Lots of dealers really stocked up expecting Hillary to win.
