Excerpt from CNN:

(CNN) Republican and Democratic governors pushed back Sunday on Donald
Trump's claims about coronavirus testing, escalating the tension over a
fundamental challenge to reopening the nation.

Governors in Virginia, Maryland and Michigan on CNN's "State of the
Union" disputed Trump's claims -- and Vice President Mike Pence's
subsequent echoing -- that their states had the appropriate levels of
testing needed to reopen their states.

Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam called the claims from the
federal government on testing capacity "delusional."

"That's just delusional. To be making statements like that. We've been
fighting every day for PPE. We have supplies now coming in. We've been
fighting for testing," Northam told Jake Tapper. "It's not a
straightforward test. We don't even have enough swabs, believe it or
not. And we're ramping that up, but for the national level to say we
have what we need, and really to have no guidelines to the state levels
is just irresponsible because we're not there yet."

Northam said that he'd like to see at least two weeks of trending
numbers of coronavirus cases going down and ramped up testing
capabilities before he starts opening up businesses in his state. "We
want to make sure we're doing it responsibly and we're doing it safely,"
he said.

On the same program, Republican Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan said the lack
of testing is the number one problem in America and "has been since the
beginning of the crisis."

"The administration I think is trying to ramp up testing. They are doing
some things with respect to private labs but to try and push this off to
say that the governors have plenty of testing and they should just get
to work on testing, somehow we aren't doing our job, is just absolutely
false," Hogan said.

Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan called for further action
on testing from the Trump administration, saying that "it would be nice
if we had a national strategy that was working with every state so every
state knew what was coming."

Until we start doing antibody testing we are just wasting time and
money.
Fauci finally agreed with that.
He said you would need to test every day if you really wanted the test
to mean anything because someone could become infected right after the
test. There seems to be an echo in here. I was saying that a couple
weeks ago.
We still have the problem that US drug companies will need to tool up
to make these tests ... after the FDA approves them.
FDA is not a speed demon either.
I suppose you are a Libertarian on this. **** the FDA, just get the
tests out there, approved or not.
If not, you are in the sit and wait room ... for months, maybe a year
if FDA does their normal approval process.
