RIP Bob.
Bummer. I doubt there is anything I can do but just ask if you think
of something.
It was a shocker and we are all still trying to digest it.
From what we've been told by the police, he and some friends
were riding and he was the last bike in the group. At some
point someone noticed he wasn't following so they turned
around and found him off the road laying unresponsive
beside his bike.
The paramedics responded but according to them,
he passed away due to a
heart attack en route to the hospital. They tried to
revive him as did the hospital but were unsuccessful.
He was an experienced rider for over 30 years but anything
could have happened .... a deer running out on the road
or whatever. There were no other vehicles involved so it
wasn't a crash of that type. He didn't drink, so that was
not a factor.
He was a big fitness guy in good physical shape except he
had a history of heart problems ... A-Fib, a blockage that
required a stent and was supposed to have another stent put
in at some point. He would have turned 66 in July.
I am only speculating because we don't have results of the
autopsy to be performed today but my hunch is that he may
have had
a stroke or heart attack while riding which caused him to
go off the road.
