freighter. Charts whether paper or electronic belong where the helmsman can
see them and nowhere else.

Why should the helmsman look at the charts? He's got enough to do.
Watching the charts is the job of the navigator. The helmsman should
be watching the instruments, the sails, and the water. He doesn't
have time to look at charts.
