Default '89 Bayliner 2.3 Engine puked

Thanks for the reply. It IS a 1950, and I have the paperwork that came with
the boat, and info for this engine. It doesn't show the optional engines,
and I can't find this info anywhere. I could swear that I saw a boat
identical to mine with the 5.0

I probably will rebuild the 2.3, but I guess I was looking for a miracle to
find a good engine fast and get it in to use before the end of this boating
season. I'm already having withdrawls for not being on the water

As far as I know, in 1989 that engine was only used in the Capri 1750 and

some
Trophy's. If the boat is a 1750, you will not be able to fit a V6 or V8

in
without major rework. Why don't you just rebuild the 2.3?

I am looking for a new, used, or reman, engine for this boat. It now

has a
4 cyl. 2.3 Ford with an OMC Cobra out drive. I think, as an optional

engine
could take up to a 5.0, but I'm not sure and I'm also not sure if it

would
bolt up to the existing outdrive.

Any help or comments to point me in the right direction would be
appreciated.
