Ummm....no. Then I realize I'm in their territory, and accept the

an oil tanker. This is not the same as a penis-boat child choking his
chicken by buzzing repeatedly around a quiet cove. Then, he's in the

wrong
territory.

Ah! So who has the right to decree that the cove was "your territory"
and that offshore was "his"?

If you had two toddlers taking naps in their strollers in a public park, who
says I shouldn't crank up a boom box 5 feet from them?

No one. That's the reality of sharing a public resource. Everyone's
idea of fun does not necessarily have to correspond to everyone elses.
Those who attempt to make value judgements to impress their subjective
opinions on everyone are basically attempting to limit other people's
right of access according to their own personal mindset.

So, again, if I lived next door to you, and I decided that I want to
have a thrash band play out on the deck every night starting at, say
midnight, and playing till early morning, you'd find that okay? Would
you also say that there shouldn't be laws to govern such actions?

You still don't get it do you? You keep coming up with strawman
situations which do not reflect the same circumstances and then
attempt to make a comparison. I already answered your last
hypothetical strawman. The time makes the difference. There already
ARE laws that limit noise at times when MOST people are expected to be
sleeping. The same rules do not apply in the middle of the day.

So, you aren't opposed to anything bothering you, if it's the
*correct* time of day? What if you had a racecourse set up in a cove,
and all the local fisherman decided to fish there, in your way. That
would be okay, right? You see, you, with your penis substitute boat,
certainly don't mind disturbing the fishermen, do you?

If my neighbor decided to cut his lawn at 3:00 AM, I would have a
problem. If he did it at 3:00 PM, there would be no problem. The
activity is the same, the noise is the same. What's different is the
time.

So, you have NO problem with ANY type of noise around your house, if
it's within YOUR hours?

You would have no trouble having laws passed which limit noise during
"sleepytime", as the majority of people (Even those who like noise
during the day) want peace and quiet at night. During the day, it
becomes a much different issue, and one which becomes complicated by
personal opinion, subjectivity, and value judgement.

See above question.
