in the showroom, my experiences lead me to believe a white gelcoat resists
weather better. I don't know if this fading is specific to Bayliner, but
I wouldn't want to chance it with any new boat, considering the ammount of

I think it's typical for all dark colored gelcoat to fade after 10
years or so, less if not kept up. It's rare to see a dark blue or red
older boat that is not badly faded unless its been repainted. After
17 years awlgrip is your friend (or any other good quality 2 part LP
paint).
