State jobless benefits have run out for 3 million

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansas...9953589.htm?1c

About 3 million unemployed Americans have exhausted their state
jobless benefits and are ineligible for further federal aid,
according
to a policy research organization.

Among that number are 58,800 Missourians and 27,600 Kansans, the
Center on Budget and Policy Priorities said last week.

Only about 34,000 unemployed U.S. workers continued to receive
benefits under the federal Temporary Extended Unemployment
Compensation program, said researcher Isaac Shapiro.

There are about 8 million U.S. workers looking for work.

Still less then at the end of Clinton's first term. ;-)

Yes, true, it took Clinton quite awhile to fix the other Bush's mess,
just as it will take Kerry quite awhile to fix THIS Bush's mess.

Let me get this straight.

The unemployment at the end of Clintons first term was the fault of the
previous POTUS, Bush 1.

The unemployment at the end of Bush 2's first term is the fault of Bush
2.

Nice try Bassy.

You are so simple!!! Clinton inherited a bad economy, with high
unemployment from Bush 1. That takes time to fix. Bush 2, on the other
hand inherited a good economy, with low unemployment, THEN ran it down
the drain.

Nice try, Jimmy.

Let me get this straight.

You say that Bush 2 inherited a *good* economy from Clinton and then ran it
down.

You obviously have no idea how the world and us economies work, the state of
the stock market during q3 and q4 1999 or the amount of debt the average
household was carrying at the end of 1999.

Get back with me after you do some research Bassy.

YOU need to do some research. We (the U.S.) are in the worst fiscal
condition right now, under Bush 2's watch, than in any other time
since the Great Depression.
