Is it possible that you might have stole the prize from NYOB?
I doubt it. But its beyond possible, in fact it is a demonstrated fact,
that
you cannot distinguish between a criticism of living conditions in
Suburbia
with a critcism of Subuarbanites.
Gould said:
"Suburbia, the fantasy consumption neighborhood where the economy
produces nothing and the SUV is a god. Suburbia is a land of economic
imperialism- all wealth and resources in Suburbia are extracted from some
remote area (the city to which all commute). Suburbia, the primarily lilly
white land
of cultural conformity."
I am ignoring the fact, that your statement is incorrect, but it sure sounds
like a criticism of Suburbanites to me. Imagine if I said,
"Cities, where people live like rats stacked on top of each other, living in
dirt and squalor because they are too lazy to pick up their own trash.
Cities are a land of drug abusers whose god is their next fix. Cities,
where prostitution is rampant. Cities, the primarily land of those who have
failed at life".
Neither one of these statements are correct, but both are criticisms of
those who live in the city or suburbia. For you to say that Suburbanites
elevates an SUV to the status of a god, was a criticism of suburbanites.
The fact that you failed to see that shows how deeply ingrained your bigotry
is. You remind me of racists who say, "I'm not a racist, some of my best
friends are black".
The "excellent" article you highlighted where the other's premise was ""And
we are the real Americans. They--rural, red-state voters, the denizens of
the exurbs--are not real Americans. They are rubes, fools, and
hate-mongers.""
Imagine if I made a post saying here is a excellent web site. Anyone with
an interest in the black vs. white political dynamic will enjoy reading this
excellent, thought-provoking web site. It's loads very slowly, but it is
insightful and worth waiting for.

A few hours later you said "There's virtually no way this country will ever
come together again. Not as
long as one side or the other thinks that compromise is either an insult to
intelligence or a sin against the Bible. We're in the last generations of
the American Empire, I suspect."
It sounds very similar to the "US vs. Them" mentality that the KKK preaches.
Instead of separating from other American's we need to pull together for our
common welfare.
