Default Record Sales for Miami Boat Show

How can this be if the economy is in the dumper?

Fitted together like pieces in a giant jigsaw puzzle, their highly polished
surfaces reflecting the overhead lights like a Broadway marquee, they came
in all sizes--58s, 42s and 11s. They were all part of the 63rd annual Miami
International Boat Show. And the PM.Zone was there.
Speaking of records, the rebounding economy had show shoppers rolling around
wheelbarrows full of cash--money talks, as they say. Tom Kostas, with
Fountain Powerboats, claimed a record $20 million in retail sales at the
show. Hey, fast nickels are better than slow dollars. And they sure add up.

We could go on and on with all kinds of numbers--the biggest boat, the
smallest boat, the tallest person visiting the show, the shortest person to
try out a helm. You get the idea. The show folks can even tell you how many
times the toilets were flushed. But you want to see some of the hardware,
right? Well, lace up your new Timberland boating shoes (you gotta at least
look like a boater at this show), wait for the starter's gun and--Go!
