been trying to talk her into someone's all-wheel drive vehicle. We have
snow and ice here frequently in the winter, leaves on the highways in
the fall and sometimes tons of rain in the spring and summer.

The only downside I'm aware of is a slight reduction in fuel efficiency due to
additional drive train losses and a tendency to become overly confident and have
problems stopping. I love it. It feels extremely safe and secure. My
occasional attempts at aggressive driving have barely made it squirm.

Various manufacturers all wheel drive systems use different methods. I
recommend test driving on various surfaces and pushing it pretty hard.

Good advice, to be sure. Problem is, car selection is something my bride
finds...boring. I doubt I can get her to more than two dealerships.
