Is this a gasoline tank or a diesel tank ???????????
For diesel just a vent to the side deck and as high as possible (such
as through the side of the deck house ... covered with a small vent
cowl..
For gasoline it should be definitely -outboard of the hull- so that the
vapors 'drain' to the water instead of back into the boat, .... usually
at the stern AND the opening should be covered with a finemesh
stainless steel screen to prevent flame propagation down through the
vent line into the tank .... and covered with a small cowl. A gasoline
tank vent without a 'flame arrestor' in the vent line is a BOOOOOM
waiting to happen.

Hi,
Recently got a new boat (Hereschoff 28) and in poking around found
that there is no breather off the fuel tank, just a 10mm hole in top of
tank! Any suggestions on best position to put breather.
Cheers
