Anyone paddling the flooded NE rivers?
Hey riverman, long time, no hearum! I have been out of the loop mostly
myself, and saw your post while checking in to see what is going on, on
the RBP. How are you doing, and did you make it overseas, and how did
the Aleut work out for you?
Can't tell you much about the paddling in the NE. except from the news
pictures, it looks nasty. Here in Colorado, we have been having dandy
Indian Summer, though that will come to an end soon. In fact some of
the ski resorts have opened, so it won't be long till the water get to
hard to paddle on!
I have been doing some paddling and sailing of my Folbot, and recently
picked up a Klepper AEII, and also a Hobie 16. So now I have more boats
than I can keep in the water at one time.
Mostly I have been real busy, and letting things cool off after last
winter here on the RBP. Found it is just a lot more fun being out in
the boat than talking about it. But now I know that all the other
paddlers were probably stressing about being cabin bound as well.
Hopefully we have a congenial winter rendevous this year. At least I
plan to stay happy! It is good to see your name, and hear from you! TnT

Other than the obvious caveats to be CAREFUL when paddling flooded
streams, are there any TRs of folks getting on some high water? Or are
most streams way too high and up in the trees?
