Default Eyewitness: "I Never Heard the Word 'Bomb'"

Grin, Christmas shopping is a relatively new aspect of celebrating
Christmas. Dec. 25th was chosen by Constantine because it was the date many
pagans celebrated the winter solstice.

All I have to say is if you have snow outside on Dec.25th, you live too far
to the north.

No, I'm right. Make a list of things you'd NEVER want to do on Dec 25th,
assuming the things on the list were optional, and you lived in the snow
belt. I'm sure that optional shopping would be on the list.

JimC,
Why is the fact that Dec. 25th is not the actual birthday of JC matter?
I don't think anyone really thinks 12/25 is his birthday, they use that
annual date to celebrate his birth. It is very common among parents
who adopted children from overseas, to designate a date to celebrate
the child's birthday. They know it is not the actual date, but it
allows them to celebrate their child's birthday. Why is this so hard
to understand?

In my opinion, whoever picked Dec 25 either lived in a warm climate, or
was totally insane. No normal person wants to slog through winter slop
to go shopping.
