I can see where the plates are and the VIN whould be. Where is the
VIN number located on a boat or trailer? and if it is stamped in then
what dose the number look like? All the numbers I see stamped into the
trailer seem to short to be a VIN? I really could you some help on
where to find these VIN's. And my boss dosen't want me to hire any one

Some manufacturers rivet them to the port side of the tongue near the
coupler.
I have one trailer that has the plate there. And a old one that has a
plate on the axle. But that one just has a Serial number. no weight
specs or anything. But it is only for light aluminum type boats.
On the boats my 95 fiberglass boat has the vin on the transom on the
starboard side just below the rub rail that is carved in the glass.
The old fishing boat has a plate on the port side on the transom on the
inside. So I guess they can be anywhere depending on age.
