That's the key - can they actually do something with nothing. Can
they keep the economic momentum moving in a positive direction, can
they actually come up with a good plan to get us out of the mess in
Iraq and I think even more importantly, can they actually emulate the
Republicans and toe the party line without inter-party squabbling they
are famous for.

More importantly than that is this - can they do it without reducing
the economic power of the middle class by staying away from taxes and
more entitlement programs.

It will be an interesting couple of years.

How many think that we will be sinking into a deep recession by this time
next year?
Unfortunately, I do.

I don't think deep, but certainly a recession is looming. Natural
economic cycle and all that.

And I'll even give you the harbinger - Google.

Google will collapse of it's own weight, will be involved in an
advertising scandal, make some kind of stupid purchase with all that
cash and start it all. Hubris rules the day at Google and we all know
what happens when that becomes the corporate culture.

On the plus side, given that trucks aren't selling well, I figure if
I wait another three or four days, the truck dealership will get
desperate enough to give me what I want for my pickup. :)

Heh, heh, heh...

Why would they give you more for a truck when trucks are not selling well?
