Default Sealant for battery?

Try JB Weld.
I used it with success on a tractor battery that met with a mishap.
But ya know, in a boat it's a different story.
If the battery huffs in the tractor I can walk back to the house.
If the boat batteries leaked out all the electrolyte whilst I was boating
(and consider the beating they take) it might be a long swim back. (not to
mention battery acid in the bilge of my Baja-would NOT make me happy)
For the $50 or so I'd pitch it and spring for a new one. OK not pitch
it-core charge-trade it in.
On second thought, it would make a great tractor battery with repairs......

I find that my fairly new battery got a small "crack" in the crash.
Not a crack really - bud the sealed cap is unsealed on one corner.

Anything I can use to seal it with that's impervious to battery "acid" ?
Silicone seal??
