Not that long ago they were under the Dept of Transportation. That
document essentially makes them part of the Navy.
Next we will see such arrangements between the Boy Scouts, the Army
and Marine Corps to provide more cannon fodder for foriegn wars. The
Navy already has the sea cadets and the Air Force has the CAP.
Pleeeze.. The USCG is helping out the Navy because the navy needs
shallow water boats.
I would like to see lots of new Navy PT boats, and have the USCG guard
our harbors and coast.
I do not like the militarization of our country at all. It's a
harbinger for pertual war.
Maybe it's to prevent another terror attack.
