Default Fish finder/depth finder

The "Blue" is for sal****er??? Read on, and I quote

"Garmin 240 Blue Fish Finder
The 240 Blue is the premium model of the Garmin 240 Fish
Finder - one of Garmin's most popular fishing systems - making it
irresistable for deeper-depth anglers.

As well as Garmin's patented See-ThruŽ technology to detect weak
and strong signals that allow the angler to see fish in structure and
thermoclines, the 240 Blue provides almost double the depth-finding
capacity - 1500 feet, and the ability to scan a wider area.

The Fishfinder 240 Blue offers offshore anglers 4,000 watts of
power peak to peak (500 watts RMS) and dual frequency (50/200 kHz) for
shallow or deep-water performance.

The Fishfinder 240 Blue boasts a high-resolution, 240x240-pixel
count on a four-level grayscale display.

The unit's graphic whiteline provides a clear picture of the
bottom hardness and contour."

Note, it's for "deeper depth anglers."
I don't have the "Blue", I fish the coastal waters of Maine and mine
performs like magic. I also have Garmin's colored GPS that I wouldn't go
anywheres without. I love them both.

I agree that this is a good choice - I have a friend who has one. My

Raytheon
doesn't begin to compare. They just lowered their price - probably since

the
color units are also coming down in price. Check eBay for deals on new

ones.
There is the 240 and the 240 Blue. I'm not sure of the difference but the
"Blue" is for sal****er.

quote
taken off Garmin's site:

Garmin 240 Fish Finder Depthfinder with Transducer - a review
"The lakes that I normally fish are deep and quite rocky, and I have

been
delighted with the performance of the Garmin 240 Fish Finder, which

gives a
clear picture of what lies below. The image of the bottom shows great
detail, and if it is showing fish presence then you can guarantee they

will
be there. It does a good job of indicating non-fishlines as well. It is

at
its best when performing in deep water, but perhaps isn't as impressive

in
shallow water.

The Depth Control feature works well in continuing to monitor changes

in
water depth automatically while the Whiteline feature determins bottom
hardness well. The screen is easy to read, even in the dark when the
backlight comes into its own. You can see the controls easily.

The Garmin 240 Fish Finder is packed full of features for less money

than
my old Lowrance, while the features are easily compatible."

It's a great electronic!!!!!!!!!!!!
