For what it is worth, it probably makes more sense if all of us used
email for silly fights, instead of cluttering up the NG. If JimH
doesn't want JohnH to email him, it would make more sense to make that
request via email, instead of using the NG.

Wise counsel.

Indeed it is..............and indeed it was done so over 6 months ago.

Having done so..............it is now considered stalking.

Understanding this.........let me know if you condone of such stalking
tactics.

No, I don't condone stalking.

However, if I had a very poor relationship with somebody- or more
accurately if one of the somebodies I have a very poor relationship
with sent me an email and I saw it in the "in" box, I might or might
not open it.

If I did open it and if it were unpleasant, I would have to blame
myself for opening it almost as much as the other party for sending
it. Sure, I suppose that if you go poking around under a skunk's tail
enough times that eventually you might find a bottle of Chanel #5 back
there- but 999,999 times out of a million you already *know* what's
going to happen when you hoist that black and white striped
dustmop....Pee-yew!

At this juncture, the only thing in evidence is your claim that JohnH
sent you a disturbing or insulting email. Opening a thread to complain
about it is a lose-lose proposition for you. There are those who might
suspect you are making this up, as you haven't revealed the nature of
the email. If you *did* reveal the nature of the email, there are
others who would come down on you for that.
Still others will think this is a silly subject that doesn't concern
anybody except the two parties involved, and should be resolved
outside the group- otherwise it's a lot like the kid who raises his
hand immediately after a grade school recess to report, "Teacher, so-
and-so called me a name on the playground!".

In an effort to cast a bad light on somebody else, we often find we
have all but painted ourselves into a corner where more fingers will
be pointed at us than the party we complain against. Therefore, I
believe Reggie's comment about resolving this outside a public
discussion forum was sage advice. If you don't want to read emails
from JohnH, don't open 'em.

Thank you Dr. Phil...er...Chuck. :)
