I can remember, once or twice as a kid, eating grilled Spam for

Maybe it was a cheap substitute for bacon some week when the paycheck
wasn't quite stretching enough.....
Might actually be good some morning next summer out on the boat. Yeah,
swinging at anchor, sun coming up, gulls scrawing, pilothouse door
ajar to let a cool, salt-scented breeze into the cabin and a slice of
Spam sizzling next to a farm fresh egg in the griddle. All I need now
is a can of Spam, and about a 5 month advance in the calendar. :-)
Chuck,
It was my fathers favorite breakfast meat, and is the number one meat
sold in Hawaii, both for the same reason. During WWII it was a prime
staple for GI's and was just about the only meat available in Hawaii
during the war. After the war, it remained popular among the Hawaiians.
Some of the most expensive and the cheapest restaurants in Hawaii,
include at least one dish made of SPAM.
This is kind of amusing - just watch it for a while.
