I am sitting here with a crankshaft bearing for a Honda MTX 50, Nachi 6205

not to use the Nachi one instead of FAG in my outboard?

Price is three-four times less buying it in the MC shop vs. Outboard shop.

Only that Nachi has never been known as the highest quality bearing -
they're OK and not junk by any means but you'll find higher quality in
NTN, NSK, SKF and FAG. Size wise the 6 designates a single row deep
groove ball bearing, the 2 designates the size series, the 05
designates a 25 mm bore (last two numbers times 5) and the C3
designates greater than normal internal clearance so these two would
be identical barring any other features. The numbers are stamped on
the bearing before assembly so there is a chance something else could
be added such as seals or shields. If so, the part number would need a
Z or ZZ for shield or two shields or if sealed would have LB, LLB, LU,
LLU, RS, 2RS or some other designation depending on manufacturer. Your
best bet would be to take it to a bearing distributor in your area and
have them identify it for certain. They would also most likely be
cheaper. Good luck.
