NMEA Problem with Garmin GpsMap 276C
I Have sent this to Garmin today:
About 12 days ago, on Feb-19 I have sent a report to this support
group regarding a serious problem with the GpsMap 276C, related to
NMEA being stopped every day between 00:00 GMT and 00:08 GMT, but as I
do have not received ANY response from Garmin, I am re-stating the
problem. This problem was detected by a friend on his GpsMap 172C and
tested and reproduced in several 276C here.
Follow the report already sent 12 days befo
a)The 276C was sending NMEA messages normally until 20:59:59 LCL
(23:59:59 GMT) after that, it begin to send invalid NMEA messages,
and little time after, stopped sending anything.
b)Around 21:08:33 LCL (00:08:33 GMT) the 276C started to send NMEA
messages normally.

Considerations:
1) The problem happens Every Day at that time on every place around
the world but we don’t know if happens at another time.
2) It is comproved in garmins 172C and 276C. We dont know what other
models have this problem.
3) I repute this problem as a very high risk if people does not know
about it. Many mariners like me and the majority of my friends have
Garmin Gps units interfaced with Autopilots specially when sailing
tricky routes, in narrow channels, in bad weather or at night.
4) This problem turns the interface inoperable (Raymarine autopilots
says "No Data" and ring the bell..) but nobody, including me, knowed
what was the cause of this behaviour until now.
I ask for a response ASAP from this support group..
Thanks
Pascal
