Work sucks.

I always thought that, too until I opened my own business. Now I don't
see it like work and look forward to going to the office.

I would agree with that ... to a point. I enjoyed working when I had a
company. But, over the years it changed. I found myself growing
increasingly impatient dealing with the BS and politics of large company
customers and the revolving door parade of young, aggressive engineers,
middle management purchasing people or contract specialists that worked for
the large companies, all trying to prove their worth to climb the corporate
ladder. The concept of a mutually beneficial contract has been lost over
the years, replaced with a requirement of having to play constant defense to
protect your company's interests. I grew very tired of it.

My fondest memories are of working with some of the older, seasoned
management representatives of the big companies that had been around for 20
or 30 years. They understood that a contract and project had to be good to
both parties and worked to make it so.

I feel badly for people that have to put up with the mentality exhibited
more and more today in the corporate world. There are still a few really
decent companies with old school cultures, but they are becoming a vanishing
breed.
