I purchased a couple of good size live lobsters today for a nice Lenten
meal for Mrs.H and me............$14.99/lb for lobsters over 2
pounds.....$75 total......ka-ching!

The problem: I forgot a fact about lobsters molting their shells in
Spring a customer of mine from Maine told me many years back. The damn
shells on these lobsters were almost an eight of an inch thick and
needed a set of channel locks to break open the claws. This was about
the worst time of year to buy them as their shells are at their
thickest.

Regardless............the meal was still great.

We are looking forward to having lobster and lobster rolls during our
New England trip this Fall.

Where are you going? I know a few places in Connecticut, Massachusetts
and Maine worth stopping at for a meal.

We are going by car to hit the leaf change in Fall in Maine. Our trip
will include Baltimore, NYC, Boston......then Maine with only Freeport
and Waterville (I know a great lobster place their) in mind.......... and
who knows where else.

Although Mrs.H has done Europe she has never seen the NE coastal areas
and is looking forward to this road trip.

Any suggestions on places to visit are appreciated.

I haven't been down to Maine in a while... but L.L.Bean is certainly a
place I'd stop off .
I also want to see the Birney Safety Car at the trolley Museum down there.

Freeport (LL Bean) is on the list. Thanks!
