This digital change over is going to be a diaster.
Mark my words.
Wonder if the US gov't would send a couple of those free converters up
here.
I have two 19" JVC analog sets, left behind by my sons, that work
perfectly.
But all in all, my wife pays about 100$ per month for sat. TV. basicly
1200$ a year for watching a tube.
I'd like to can the whole thing myself. Or put up an antenna and go
back to freebie.
I haven't been following the TV ads, so is my assumption that TV
broadcasting is coming to an end over the "airwaves" next year correct?
It will all be broadcast digitally starting in Feb '09.
What does that mean? The end of cable? Really, I have not been following
any of this.
No, it means that the current analogue signals from local stations will be
upgraded to digital. This means that the tube TV sets (analogue) will no
longer be able to receive a signal unless a digital converter box is
attached.
Cable subscribers are not effected as they already send the signals
digitally.
Oh...thanks. I don't even like to look at the cable bill, since I think
the prices being charged are outrageous.
