I'm going to look at a Mercrusier 3.0 (4 cyl) tomorrow that has a carb that is
losing the float bowl fuel when the engine is shut down. This usually meant
replacing the carb with cars I've worked on in the past but a rebuilt is $400
and may not be easy to get.
Has anyone had any luck repairing this problem - trying to reseal casting plugs
etc.?
Thanks for any help

Leaking down the intake? *Or the outside? *Or back down the fuel line?
If it's leaking back down the fuel line then try disassembling and
cleaning the fuel pump.

Yes I forgot about that one....fuel pump may have a blown or leaking
diaphram.
