Yippee!

Removing the propeller allowed enough room to put one of the big
Rubbermaids containers below the lower unit. The container was high enough
so that when filled with water, the intakes were covered. Cranking the
engine and leaving it at idle didn't get water through the pee hole, but
when I revved it up to about 1400rpm the water flowed quite nicely.

So, I was able to let the engine run long enough to get the stabilized fuel
in the system. And, I was able to run it at fast idle to get the fogging
oil into the cylinders.

So, all is well. Thanks to those of you who offered advice and tips!

Now, I've told you. You shouldn't want to learn anything about your
engine, you shouldn't enjoy the feeling of a job done well, and you
certainly shouldn't have the ambition to do so. You should always take
it to a service person. And not just any service person, only one
personally picked by Harry.......

Well, I'll tell you what...I sure had a big-assed smile on my face when
that water started coming out of the pee hole yesterday. Then, everything
else went just like the book said.

This morning I ordered a service manual. $89 for the damn thing. But, I
saved about that much with doing my own winterizing, so it's like a
free-bee.

Actually, you don't know what you saved...and in fact you may have
caused some damage.

Well, I know you're hoping that all went well for me. For that I'm
thankful.

Hell, I 'may' have ruined the engine. If so, I'll buy another one in the
spring. No sense in worrying about it now.

Hell, it's almost Christmas! We're going down to Richmond to watch
grandkids open presents and have a nice breakfast with one of the
daughters. If you'd like, I'll take some nice pictures for you so you can
share the moment, so to speak.
