Default ICOM M802 and SCS TRXPTC?

I've had good experiences substituting DB9-to-BT transmitters for
serial cables on my boat. They are very reliable within the cabin and
forward part of the cockpit carrying 9,6kbps binary data from an
Inmarsat mini-C terminal to the PC or 4,8k NEMA bus data.

Beyond 4m this system is unreliable since the BT-serial adapters I use
are not Class 1. But there are plenty "industrial-grade" serial cable
replacements in the market that, as Meindert remarked, reach well
beyond yacht confines.

Having successfully installed one in an M802 I would like to know if anyone
here has one or a Bluetooth SCS modem. Seems the Bluetooth range is short.
Works great if you are close enough.
