Cold fast flowing water at Deep Creek near Bryson City, NC.
Getting the home built slide in camper put on the truck literally at
the last minute had its downside, serious back trouble for me.
Nevertheless, it was so nice at Deep Creek all of us in our party (21
people) all marvelled ( all from Tallahassee) at the lack of
mosquitoes and the fact we could be outside without instantly getting
moldy from humidity. In spite of back trouble, I went tubing anyway
and realized this was a mistake with limited mobility.
The camper worked reasonably well although it rained Fri nite and I
found a serious leak where screws had missed going into wood in an
overhead vent so also missed the sealant.
Saturday, everbody else went whitewater rafting on the Nantahala while
I simply lay flat on a table watching kayakers. Every now and then,
I'd wonder over to the water and wade in. There are worse punishments
than lazing around watching girls in bathing suits.
Camper pulled well although I never got over 70 mph. Got 17.5 mpg
which is better than I expected with the wind resistance.
A successful trip but it is back to the N. FL. sauna and so-called
"Tropical Storm" Claudette. Seems the hurricane center is desperate
to be somenear close to correct so they name every thunderstorm as a
TS.
That is some good news!
How about some pictures of this camper, either here with urls or
'there'. That is really cool, having built something like that and
actually using it. Hopefully you've got the leak fixed and all is well
there. How did the Mrs like it?
