Yes I'm sure it did. We did a lot of low mountain and river flying
though. Weird to be banking hard either way and if sitting as a door
gunner, to be looking at the trees no more than 75 feet below you.
But when I look at it. Compared to the Black Hawk and Apache, the huey
was about as close to a VW bus as you could get.
they were unsophisticated, easy to maintain, and just plain tough.
and for what they were, they did there job rather well.
