The Olympics were interesting sometimes when the competitors were
amateurs. Now that the pros have taken over and turned the games into
play for pay...b-o-r-i-n-g.

Agreed. I never did like the idea of pros joining in, but not sure it
has hurt either. Sort of hurts for the non-pros but will admit the best
is the best, be they pro or not. And why should a talented skater or
skier get some endorsements or whatever.
