things have changed since then....the dems signed the voting rights
act. and the GOP opposed it, played the race card, and won the south



Actually the 1964 Civil Rights act was passed because of Republican support.
The biggest hindrance to the passage was Sen. Gore. Yup, Al's racist daddy.
