It's like this. If we don't stop them and find ways to eradicate them
our waterways will become unusable.
The you tube video and reports tell of the Illinois River having
stretches no one uses because it is dangerous and perhaps mostly devoid
of native species we would want to fish for.
The Elites of Chicago and shipping interests are calling the shots and
don't give a rat's ass about the Great Lakes or millions of jobs that
will be lost if the Great Lakes are invaded by the Asian Carp. These
People that have pretty much taken over the shoreline of Lake Michigan,
Huron, Superior will find they have a view but won't go out on the water
because of Carp flying into their boats. There won't be any Salmon,
Trout, etc for them to catch and mount on the their Chicago Office walls.
The Politicians better start being rational and close the Chicago Sewage
Canal. There might be a few special interest or shipping interest hurt
for a little while but if they don't stop the Asian Carp Invasion and we
lose the Great Lakes America will lose the Great Lakes forever and
millions of more jobs forever.

I don't disagree, but believe the damage is already done and in the
playout it is inevitable.

Take Alewife that came in. Wasn't so bad after all as Salmon stock also
not indiginious took off. Sure love catching them. Got a 30" king once
and seemed to have luck with those steelhead.

And I know first hand very large carp are already in Michigan. Don't
know what type but they are there.

And even agree with shipping being the main cause of eels and a host sof
other marine life hitching a ride. But we have decided some very long
time ago that the Great Lakes is for this.

Take how they get to the great lakes. Man made it easy as ABC.
Mississippi River no loaded with levees that make fish travel trivial.
Dredging so even marine life no on the seruface can pass.

The mere fact man is present means we will screw up the environment.
Man has yet to learn we can't manage the environemnt, it manages us.
