I don't believe there are bridges much below Bangor, so I guess you
could. I wouldn't in our sailboat but it might be fun in your power
boat.

There is a chart of the Penobscot river, so some part of it is
navigable. But, I don't think you will run out of beautiful palces to
visit for a long time without going up there.
