Walmart's profits came at the expense of the small mom and pop stores
they displace so, at best it was a zero sum game. The reality is it
was worse. Those "savings" come at the cost of other American
businesses.
The American sunset and the Chinese ascent are largely due to the type
of business Walmart runs.

We all seem to like $69 color TVs and $20 Levis without thinking of
what the long term consequences are.
And what we people don't realize is that it's just another form of
taxation, only this one could cost you more than a percentage of your
income, it could cost you your job.
But most folks don't give a **** about the next guy, until the next
guy is them.
