There are several books. Calder's book is good but more about theory
and building the whole system. Richard Coleman has an excelent down to
earth book on DIY yacht refrigeration but it is more on building the
entire system, maintaining and servicing it. Weems & Plath publishes
(or did at one time) a good basic book on box construction called "The
Perfect Box: 39 ways to improve your boat's ice box." Lot of good
basic information on materials and methods and very little on the
refrigeration mechanics.
