The Xantrex is actually a Balmar MC 412. Xantrex bought the design from
Balmar. It is an excellent regulator.

I guess you have figured out by now that I am working on the charging
system. Now I need some practical experience with 3 stage regulators.
The top candidates are the Balmar Max Charge, Xantrex and the Ample
Power Next Step. Others that may be considered include the Aqualine,
Mastervolt Alpha and , Charles C-Charge. I am leaning towards the Ample
Power but only because they seem to offer more data on their products.
Anyone have anything good or bad to say about any of them?
