Default Satellite Weather

Not entirely true. The radio is different due to the frequency, but the
demodulator is the same. My SeaSeation uses the same demodulator
for both FAX and SAT. Although the latest upgrade allows FAX to
com in through the sound port (mic or line). The card is still necessary
for SAT capture, but this is a marketing thing.

That is what I was thinking. When he says 137 MHz, that is direct low
orbit NOAA satellite image frequencies and takes an entirely different
set of equipment and software.

maxlynn, You're very right in saying that JVComm works great for HF
WeFax images, but I believe the question in this thread is about
receiving realtime satellite weather images. Some additional
equipment is needed to do this, and a satellite prediction program to
anticipate the overflight of the satellite. These images are in
realtime, not downloaded by a shore station and rebroadcast over HF as
WeFax images are. The JVComm can also be used for this as well as
many other programs.
