Default Let's take a cruise, but only if we are constipated...

I've got a meeting in Philly coming up this fall. It's only for a few
days and I won't have the time to go wandering before or after the
meeting. Been to Philly many times; my dad was born there, and lived in
Elkins Park. Later, the family moved to Massachusetts. Anyway, I'm sure
I'll go up there and back on Amtrak.

How much is parking these days at the Beltway station?

Dunno...when I take the train for a short trip, I park at a $20 a day
downtown lot, and if it is for a long trip and I am paying, I park
across the river in Crystal City for $8.00 a day. The Union Station
parking is, I think, $22 a day. Now, if we are heading south on the
train to Florida, we park for free at the Alexandria Amtrak station,
since the trains stop there each way.

Never "trained" or parked at the Maryland beltway station. I've seen it,
of course.

I'm not a big fan of parking downtown if I have to pay for it. We go to
a half dozen ballgames a season at the Nationals stadium, where the
close-in parking is $25 or $30. It's more convenient, faster, and a lot
cheaper to park the car at the Suitland Metro station and take the Metro
to the ballpark. I have three clients who are at downtown locations. I
bill them for parking when I visit.
