You can call the borrowed shovel capital if you like, and the shoes worn
while shoveling capital. They're needed too. But that's laughable,
since labor produced both. And their value pales in comparison to the
labor used to do the shoveling.
I suppose if I used completely tool less labor as an example - like dog-
walking or house sitting - you'd claim the shoes, pants and shirt were
needed capital. Maybe socks too.
Everything starts with labor, even getting out of bed, and deciding what
pair of shoes to put on. Truck driver or Wall Street broker.
How your labor is compensated by increased capital is another matter.
Can't get around it, no matter what steps you use.
I know many here get their panties in a wad when they hear the word
"labor." Well, gee, that's just too bad.

Labor without capital is simply labor, there is no money in it.

In the sense of any business beyond prostitution, you need some kind
of capital to get the business started. Most of the "labor" is in
building the business not simply providing the grunt work.
Perhaps if we wanted to stay a nation of day laborers raking leaves
and shoveling snow, I would see your point but this country was built
by big corporations started by guys like Ford, Carnegie and Edison.
They were all about raising capital and hiring labor.

Thought you said that original labor is what counts. Oh yeah, you keep
