to joker someone into paying a couple hundred
dollars for an obsolete, battery hog Model 45 he maybe picked up at a tag sale
for $4. BRBR
This unit cost $300 when I bought it new. It just sold for $75 and it works
just as well now as it did when new. This is a bargain for a quality piece
that does everthing a GPS is supposed to do, and more. Jax traded pots and
pans for a cheap eTrex so that says a lot about his acumen.
His comment about battery life is equally uninformed. This unit typically runs
20 hrs or more on four ordinary and inexpensive AA batteries. But most
sailors just plug the unit into the ship's battery and never worry about it.
My guess is that Jax doesn't have a ship battery, or a boat for that matter.
His realm is the scullery....
