All I've ever done is express my deepest condolences to them for having to suffer you during the loss of the best years of their lives. Just think how much more enjoyable and comfortable those years would have been if you were a normal supportive husband and father.

Exactly, it's surely not his wife and kid's faults that they have a
husband/father who is too lazy or unemployable to get a decent job, and
who doesn't think education is important because it's "progressive".
Poor them, no healthcare, in debt, no way out.
