Well then, what would constitute an "absolutely necessary" situation?
Scotty "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... I would venture that not having auxiliary power to get back in would make sailing "absolutely necessary" Not if you could be safely towed after using your handheld to advise the marina that you were coming in under sail. Capt RB |

There isn't one. My club has no rules against sailing into a slip. But if yours does then you should follow procedure. Radio in via handheld BEFORE sailing in. RB |

So does stupidity make it absolutely necessary in which case you are free to sail into the marina ALL the time
S.Simon "John Cairns" wrote in message ... Just got back from the marina, changed the battery charger over, paid the next month's slip fees. While I was in the office, asked the girl for a copy of the marina rules. It states that sailing in the marina is prohibited except when "absolutely necessary". I would venture that not having auxiliary power to get back in would make sailing "absolutely necessary". John Cairns |

Yes, and it's your call as skipper as to what is "absolutely necessary."
It's easier to ask forgiveness than to seek permission. "John Cairns" wrote in message ... Just got back from the marina, changed the battery charger over, paid the next month's slip fees.
