Anyone see any cute pirates lately? ;-D I hear most of them are switch hitters. Aaaarrrgghh! Give the Lady a chance, will you? LP Hey, it's a 50/50 chance, maybe better if you know what I mean. Well, I don't know what you "mean", but my chances are much greater than that!!!! Tell me the location you are referring to and I will avoid that area! lol LP (been to Greece lately? ;-)) LP |

LP Bwaaahahahahahhahahahahahaaa! Envy? C'mon LP, you really need to come down here! The only thing I envy is those beautiful mountains, ours are hills by comparison. Well I appreciate the invite, Oz. I've seen America, many times...it's time I set my dreams on the horizion. Can I sleep on one of your boats intstead of paying for motel expenses? You may take me into this.... All good movies, but not "better" by any defintion other than yours. Cain Mutiny was a another high point for Bogart. Old man and the Sea is a good effort. By any personal standard, Bullit is horribly dated. Papion is "better" for McQueen fans, especially if you read the book. RB The Sting. I'll never forget the whole theatre breaking into applause at the end. I'll never forget my high school days rehearsing for that play... :-) LP How did you find anyone pretty enough to play Redford? LP (been to Greece lately? ;-)) Greece? Seriously? Nah, just referring to the "Greek Cap" ;-D there's an opportunity there and I'm grabbing it. Sound great, go for it, I say. BTW, my son did his first area solo a couple of weeks ago so he can now get out of the circuit and out into the training area. A few more weeks and he'll have his GFPT or restricted PPL. I will have to check with Bertie about the license exchange from Europe to USA, but I think you are saying that he's got his private pilot certificate (hence he soloed) In America, our "private pilot certificate" is a little more stringent than yours, we require "night time flying", which I think you guys have a separate certificate for that? It worked great for about a year and a half (scheduled for a 6 month mission) but then it had a problem and lost 99% of its reaction gas, which is needed to keep it stabile. We managed to keep it going for another 6 months with 24/7 attention, but then resources got diverted to for one of the early shuttle tests (where they dropped the mock-up from a plane, I think) and it was lost. Once they start tumbling the orbit decays quicker and it burned up in a year or so. This was HEAO-2, also known as the Einstein Observatory. In many ways, it was a predecessor to Hubble - my boss, Dr. Riccardo Giacconi, became the first director of the Space Telescope Science Institute and was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2002. Hi, group. I've been lurking here for three days and have drawn the
following conclusions: 1. This is not really a sailing group, rather a bunch of sailors kibitzing with each other, as in a bar or on the dock over rum drinks. 2. There are a few rather bright people here, and many who are, shall we say, intellectually challenged. No doubt those of you in the former category know who you are, and the rest of you probably think you're in the former group. 3. This person, Bobsprit, is probably on welfare and does nothing but sit at home glued to his computer, as no one would have the time to post as much as he does and actually work a job. Further his take on things is mostly inflammatory, branding him as little more than a malcontent at best and a jerk more likely. I'm betting he claims to sail, but lacks sailing knowledge beyond what he's been able to glean from this newsgroup. I'm also betting he claims to be wealthy and in possession of fine things, attractive women (unless he's gay), and a fine sailboat. I'm also convinced he has none of these. Okay, flame away, but tell me--am I right on any of these points? Joe Campbell Miami "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... A quick glance at today's cable guide.....
