Shucks, I was only half serious. If I owned Texas then I could probably
afford to live there comfortably. And I certainly don't want to live any
place where I might have to shovel snow more than twice a decade.

... Actually I take a "glass is half
full approach". Whenever I find myself gushing over the beauty of the
Pacific Northwest or New England, or, recently in Northern Italy I
have to remind myself that growing up in West Texas I am easily
impressed

Well, I have somewhat the opposite problem. I grew up in rural North
Carolina which was lovely (and still is, if you know where to look). But
with the arrogance of youth I thought of it as the armpit of all
Creation. Looking at what it is now, I wish I'd appreciated it more back
then. But there are certainly a lot of beautiful places on this Earth!

Did you visit Lake Garda?

Afraid not. Never made it out of Tuscany. There are a surprising
number of things to see and wines to drink over there. The Italians
were very nice, by the way, although they don't seem to care for Bush.

Oz,

Once again, You force me to ask, are you certain or just blowing off.
For all you know it could be "Gator Aid" More than likely it was
nothing at all. NO PROOF IS NO PROOF UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE.
Buzz off boy! Your static bothers me :^)

Hey Oz,

Is the Olympic Infrastructure in place in Athens? How are the charters
on your boats getting to the events? Have you any info to pass on?

PDW,

If that is the case, you would think they could test for it. I know
that long distance runners train at high altitude just to create that
condition.

Also, I would be very interested about the group the cyclist were tested
against? Were they extreme training sports people or just other FAT
AMERICANS?

Oz,

In this country and its courts the burden of proof is required of the
accuser!

Without proof he is NOT GUILTY. That is the way it is.

Joe,

I hear what you're saying and I KNOW how you are feeling. I also think I
can feel a little of how they feel. (One of the reasons I like to twist
the needle,once in awhile)

The world is going GLOBAL. It is already past start. The Euro group are
aware of it and can't accept the fact that it isn't one of them that is
leading the reformation.

We were thrust into the role by the Marshall plan and the UN. Our
mentality is so different than theirs ( People governing themselves
rather people being governed by an elite group) We on the other hand are
doing a pretty ****ty job of showing the way.

The World is at a stage where it must be TUTORED. If not us; who then?

Joe, I do believe we better learn how to tutor all people and do it
right. Might is not right, as Iraq has proven.

Sports are fun and winning is the most fun but be good losers is part of
the game. Atlantic Cup Racing has given us a lesson in losing.

SO, my friend, let's remember we are all humans. We are All we have.
Let's enjoy one another. Competition is fun but it isn't a total, just
part of life. Friendly it is a game. Let it get to serious and it's a
WAR

Now, let me off this damn SOAP BOX. Lance whipped their ass:^)

No, they can't test for it yet. And you're right about the high
altitude training.

Also, I would be very interested about the group the cyclist were tested

Cyclists against the population in general IIRC. Think about it, Thom.
The fat lazy Americans in their 20's and 30's don't as a rule have a
high incidence of strokes & heart attacks. If you have a group of fit
people with a noticeable deviation from the norm, and in a sport where
the use of things like EPO is common, and you know that the use of EPO
causes an increase in strokes & heart attacks......

I still don't take anything away from Lance. Even if he *was* using, so
what? Most likely a lot of his top competition in the race were, too,
and he still won.

IMHO they should have an 'open' class in 'sport' and allow those
'athletes' to take anything they want provided they agreed not to sue
anyone or ask for life support if/when their bodies packed up. Could be
entertaining and a lot more honest that things are now.
