Default Things that BS know nothing about.

1. What constitutes a "slow" boat.
2. Definition of the word "sea trial".
3. Blue-water sailing. Especially pathetic since BS claimed he didn't have a
"9-5" job, which eliminates the first excuse, not having time for offshore
passage making.
4. What enhances "performance" on a sailboat. Very recent post indicates he
thinks st winches enhance "performance". Did he mean to say they make it
"easier".

1/2 point for each additional example.

Poor John. It kills him that I spark sailing debate here. Something only Neal

Nice list of lies, John! Well done.

Actually, quality winches do enhance performance as they allow easy,

Slow boat= SAIL

I've often wondered why it is so much fun racing (If you pardon the
term) a boat going 6 knts. I can trot faster than my boat without half
the effort.

If you have a Sailboat, you have a slow boat.

Sea trial= Checking out a vessel under conditions the vessel "On Trial"
will encounter and how it responds.

Blue water sailing= Going voyaging away from outside support. On your
own and at sea.

Performance= A very subjective word; often used as a noun. Should be
used to evaluate the value of another noun @ speed, endurance, comfort,
enjoyment, acting, trolling, being a asshole etc and subject to who is
doing the rating

My try, John. Hope it helps

I crew on a boat that can do faster than 6 knots, in fact, it can plane. The
main thing is getting your boat to go as fast as it possibly can, to test
your skill against the skill of others. Racing develops sail trim skills
that otherwise don't get developed, ditto boat handling. Think about a 10
day passage, even a quarter knot average increase boat speed will get you to
your destination a half day sooner. I don't advocate racing for everyone, it
is a LOT of work, but I think everyone should try it at least once.
